About us
Founded in 2022, the Technopolis Association of Kenya (TAK) is a non-profit membership organisation dedicated to fostering a culture of innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development across Kenya. We were founded when the Government envisioned a thriving economy driven by youth-led innovation. Since then, we’ve grown to a number of startups and freelancers that are innovating in multiple industries.
Today our purpose is sharper than ever: to serve as the central hub, coordinator, and measure of the national innovation ecosystem — the single point where students, founders, corporations, NGOs, incubators, investors, and government can find each other and the resources they need.
We collaborate with government agencies, international development partners, and the private sector to build an enabling environment where ideas become real-world impact. We are the connective tissue of national innovation. The central hub, coordinator and measure of the innovation ecosystem in Kenya — the single point where every stakeholder connects.
TAK exists to make the ecosystem work as one. We play three roles that, together, turn scattered effort into shared momentum.
1. Central Hub
One destination where every part of the ecosystem connects — people, programmes, funding, and opportunities, organised around who you are and what you need.
2. Ecosystem Coordinator
We link stakeholders to each other and to what they need — opening doors, reducing duplication, and aligning effort so the whole ecosystem pulls in the same direction.
3. Ecosystem Measure
We track the health, activity, and growth of innovation in Kenya — giving founders, investors, and government a shared, evidence-based picture of progress.
