Electrician

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic knowledge of residual current devices, and over current protective devices.
  
• Understanding of National Electric Code or similar national standard, Alternating Current (AC) theory, motors, starters and transformers preferred.
  
• Fluent in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English preferred.
  
• Additional knowledge/skills may be required by contract or assignment.
  

Experience & Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  
• Two (2) or more years of experience as an Electrician Helper.
  
• Additional experience/education may be required by contract or assignment.
  

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

• Physically fit to stand and bend for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
  
• Mandatory use of appropriate Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE)
  
• Living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable
  
• Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions
  
• Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions
  

• Identify life, health, and safety (LHS) issues and repair circuit faults on electrical systems
  
• Install, maintain, repair, or replace electrical equipment and systems in strict accordance with applicable codes and standards
  
• Identify proper materials for use on specific installations and complete maintenance and repair records
  
• Follow all safety rules and procedures including wearing required personal safety equipment
  
• Oversee electrical work of assigned employees to ensure compliance with standards
  
• Ensure electrical tools and equipment are properly maintained in a safe operating condition and work areas are clean and hazard free
  
• Perform other qualified duties as assigned
