Reporting to Head- PMO

Role Purpose:

The Project Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining project and portfolio management reporting, including risk and issues logs, dependencies, status updates, etc. The role includes managing Project Management deliverables within the defined Project Lifecycle, such as the Project and Assurance Plan. The Project Manager will collaborate closely with Commercial Teams, Business Analysts, Engineering Teams, Change teams, and External Vendors.

Staff reporting to this post: None directly, but the role will lead project staff through a matrix team structure and manage project delivery through both local and remote resources, including vendors and OEMs.


Role Dimensions:

The project management aspects of the role are industry-standard, requiring the ability to lead medium to large projects using Waterfall and Agile methodologies. A deep understanding of technology delivery and Software Development Lifecycle, along with an appreciation for change management and deployment methodologies, is crucial.

1. Full Project Management Accountability:

• Manage assigned projects in compliance with the project lifecycle methodology within PMO framework, including navigation of stage gates and securing design board approvals.

2. Hybrid Agile/Waterfall Approach:

• Establish and manage a hybrid Agile/Waterfall approach to project delivery, aligning with existing practices.

3. Project Planning:

• Establish and manage a realistic and committed plan for the project, considering business/customer deadlines, dependencies, resources, and costs.

4. Project Monitoring and Adherence:

• Drive the project with regular monitoring of workstream activity, managing adherence to the plan, and resolving obstacles to delivery.

5. Status Reporting:

• Provide regular status reports on plan, finances, resources, risks, and issues following PMO guidelines.

6. Risk and Issue Management:

• Proactively identify and manage project risks and issues, driving actions to mitigate or resolve.

7. Documentation and Quality Assurance:

• Maintain accurate documentation in line with the project lifecycle and oversee final quality assurance on the project.

8. Project Governance:

• Manage project governance, including a Project Review Group with required stakeholders.

9. Best Practices Implementation:

• Implement best practices and procedures in project management.

10. Stakeholder Communication:

• Manage communication channels with stakeholders in geographically dispersed locations.

11. Alignment with Strategic Goals:

• Ensure that projects align with strategic goals and are supported by sound business.

Qualifications:

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree level

• Mandatory: Scrum Master certification

• Mandatory: PMP, PRINCE2 (Foundation and/or Practitioner), or Agile-PMP

Experience & Skills

• Over 3 years’ experience delivering projects focused on software development and application integration.

• Experience in establishing and embedding Agile methodology.

• Demonstrable experience and in-depth knowledge of program and project practices and standards (SCRUM, Prince2, etc.).

• Proficient skills in managing and reporting on projects in compliance with a project delivery methodology in conjunction with a PMO function.

• Proven ability to deliver projects on time and on budget, using project management processes and tools.

• Strong understanding of scope and change management.

• Comprehensive management and influencing skills, including working with senior-level executives.

• Ability to resolve issues swiftly and decisively while safeguarding standards and procedures.

• Strong team leadership with the ability to motivate and mobilize individuals outside their reporting line.

• Strong business requirements collection and process/workflow analysis skills.

• Excellent communication skills (written and oral English), including the ability to communicate and present to all levels of the organization.

• Demonstrable instances of initiatives that have delivered organizational benefits.

• Experience in managing both local and remote project team member
