Academic Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in, Building Management, Urban & Regional Planning, Quantity Surveying, Architecture, or a related field from a recognized University.
  • 5 years of progressively responsible experience in building maintenance repair and services.
  • Experience in building, mechanic, heating engineer, air-conditioning engineer, electrician, automation mechanic or electronics engineer
  • Proven experience in building maintenance and repair, preferably in an international organization.
  • Knowledge of building systems, including electrical, plumbing, and fire safety systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to operate maintenance tools and equipment.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in building maintenance.

Age Limit:

  • Be below 50 years old. This provision does not apply to internal candidates.

      Role Overview

      • Under the supervision of the PO, Logistics & Maintenance, the incumbent shall be responsible for all related maintenance requests, activities of the ECOWAS Commission headquarters, the two annexes and residence of the President other Civil Works and Payments of bills.
      • This position shall also handle maintenance issues that occur daily and are attended to as and when they occur in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

      Role and Duties

      • Maintenance and operation for all existing physical facilities and assets at ECOWAS offices.
      • Implement all maintenance service contracts related to Electro/Mechanical and civil works.
      • Maintain Installations and good functioning of Generators and all Electrical Installations,
      • Sustain good functioning of Plumbing, Central Air Conditioners/Stand Alone
      • Ensure maintenance of the ECOWAS Commission working places and the Residence of the President.
      • Solve all Associated Technical Challenges/Problems.
      • Inspecting, testing, and repairing facilities equipment and systems, such as electrical, plumbing, ventilation, and air-conditioning.
      • Performing preventive maintenance and following local and state building codes.
      • Installing or upgrading equipment and appliances.
      • Cleaning, lubricating, greasing, oiling, and painting machinery, tools, and surfaces.
      • Completing minor roofing repairs and keeping rooflines and drains clear of debris.
      • Keeping a maintenance log and writing shift reports.
      • Complying with all company safety regulations and reporting any issues to the maintenance manager or clients.
      • Delegating tasks among the maintenance team and taking inventory of cleaning supplies and tools.
      • Monitor and maintain all building systems as assigned.
      • Responsible for alerting the Common Services team of any unusual occurrence and/or damage that has taken place or that may occur.
      • Ensure compliance of all work-related activities in a fair, ethical, and consistent manner.
      • Responsible for the completion of all maintenance service requests as assigned.
      • Maintain a professional courteous manner with all residents, vendors, contractors, and fellow employees.
      • Assure safety standards are used that comply with the institution’s guidelines.
      • Follow established company policies and those outlined in the contractor’s guidelines.

      • Maintain monthly inspection and maintenance of the building and AC roof motors, fans and replace them as needed; clean, grease and paint all equipment used in heating and ventilation.
      • Perform a wide variety of general building maintenance repairs and services.
      • Install light bulbs, doors, cabinets, paneling, carpet, and bulletin boards.
      • Assist in monitoring all work being performed by outside contractors.
      • Paint interior and exterior walls and cabinets if needed; mount wall pictures; assemble furniture.
      • Replace washers, faucets, and seals on malfunctioning plumbing equipment; repair leaky faucets and clean clogged drains; install and repair sprinklers.
      • Perform any other task assigned by the supervisor.
