Assistant Engineer II (Water and Sewerage) - 2 Posts

Duties and Responsibilities:

Carry out feasibility studies for water supply and sewerage systems; 

• Plan and design water supply and sewerage systems; 
• Carry out research in various aspects of water, sewerage, and hydraulics; 
• Participate in public participation forums on water and sewerage projects; 
• Write monthly reports on the status of water and sewerage projects; 
• Represent the department during stakeholder meetings as may be directed by the supervisor; 
• Write concept notes for proposed water and sewerage projects; 
• Carry out routine monitoring of water and sewerage projects and give technical advice to contractors; 
• Carry out projects’ inspection and do inspection reports; 
• Engage development partners in the area of jurisdiction; 
• Mentor staff through on-the-job training initiatives

Requirements & Qualifications

For appointment to this grade, an applicant MUST have:

• A degree in any of the following disciplines: Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Registered by the Engineers Registration Board of Kenya as a Graduate Engineer 
• Have a certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution
