Description
Dümmen Orange, a leading breeder and propagator of flowers and plants, is seeking an experienced Heavy Truck Driver for our Export and Logistics team based in Embu. This is a full-time, renewable contract position offering an opportunity to work in a dynamic, growth-focused organization serving growers, wholesalers, and retailers worldwide.
You'll play a critical role in transporting company supplies, raw materials, cuttings, and passengers to designated locations safely and on time. This role demands excellence in vehicle maintenance, adherence to all safety and legal requirements, and a commitment to professional conduct. Success in this role means zero safety incidents, on-time deliveries and collections, meticulously maintained vehicles, and full legal compliance across all operations.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
• Valid driver's license classes B, C, and D with a clean driving record
• Valid PSV (Public Service Vehicle) badge
• Good knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and routes
• Ability to operate a range of vehicles, from small delivery vans to large trucks (5+ tons)
• K.C.S.E C+ or equivalent education
• 5-10 years' experience driving trucks 5 tons and above
• Fluent English (written and spoken)
Responsibilities
• Transport company supplies, raw materials, cuttings, and passengers to designated locations safely and on time
• Adhere strictly to driver's code of conduct, traffic laws, and safety regulations to prevent accidents and incidents
• Perform regular safety checks on vehicles before and after each trip to ensure they are in good working condition
• Handle passenger grievances and other issues professionally and in a timely manner
• Participate in training and industry courses to stay current with transport industry best practices
• Ensure all necessary paperwork and documentation are in order before transporting goods and passengers
• Maintain cleanliness and proper upkeep of vehicles under your care
• Complete daily vehicle checklists and maintain accurate vehicle logs
• Ensure legal compliance with NTSA, Traffic Act, County bylaws, KENHA, and Airport Security requirements
• Manage vehicle offloading, fueling, and on-time maintenance schedules
