The Technical support Lead role responsibilities include the

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Coordinateinternal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution ofmultiple projects.

  • Ensurethat all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget

  • Assistin the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevantinternal stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility

  • Ensureresource availability and allocation

  • Developa detailed project plan to monitor and track progress

  • Managechanges to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs usingappropriate verification techniques

  • Measureperformance using appropriate project management tools and techniques

  • Reportand escalate to management as needed

  • Managethe relationship with the client and relevant stakeholders

  • Performrisk management to minimize potential risks

  • Establishand maintain relationships with third parties/vendors

  • Createand maintain comprehensive project documentation

  • Meetwith clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specificrequirements of each project

  • Trackproject performance, specifically to analyse the successful completion ofshort and long-term goals

  • Meetbudgetary objectives and adjust project constraints based on financialanalysis

  • Developcomprehensive project plans to be shared with clients as well as other staffmembers

  • Use andcontinually develop leadership skills

  • Attendconferences and training as required to maintain proficiency.

  • Developspreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs.

Systems Management

  • Assesstracking system vendors and develop test strategies for new hardware andsoftware.

  • Troubleshoothardware and software issues related to tracking systems escalated bycustomers or staff within agreed SLA.

  • Perform systembackups and plan emergency data recovery methods.
  • Monitor systemperformance and implement adjustments when needed.
  • Supportsmultiple software and hardware systems throughout the organization.
  • Offersleadership, coaching, and training to manage staff performance.
  • Participatesin planning and designing appropriate technologies and products to meet the evolving needs of the business.
  • Responsiblefor product development and support to supportall users.
  • Acts an IT link to all informationsystems policies and documentation including backup strategies, usertraining materials and securitypolicies.
  • Makestechnology-related recommendations and decisions for hardware andsoftware acquisition.

Product Development

  • Solicit ideas for new products from others and contributeideas for new products. Collect information on new product ideas, analysesnew product ideas, and helps evaluate new product ideas.

  • Maintains constant surveillance and awareness of the marketand to effectively identify customer needs and trends.

  • maintains awareness of competitive products, potentialcompetitive products, competitors, and competitor capabilities. Activelycollects and analyzes data on competitors and helps to organize this datainto meaningful information. Organizes or effectively participates in competitiveintelligence efforts. Use competitive information in the development of a newproduct. identify strengths and weaknesses of proposed products relative tothe competition, can anticipate competitive responses, and can considercompetitive actions in the development of sales projections.

  • proactively develops a plan for collecting voice of thecustomer (VOC) data early in the development cycle. The plan addressesmethods to be used, definition of the customers to be talked to, resourcesrequired, and the schedule for the investigation effort.

  • Applies VOC techniques appropriately to understand bothstated and latent needs. The customer needs identified reflect this VOC inputrather than his initial perceptions of the customer needs.

  • works with the team to develop a comprehensive set ofrequirements that address all defined customer needs and that are complete.Product requirements are effectively communicated to team members to assure acomplete and consistent understanding of the requirements. Product requirementsare managed to minimize changes once development is underway. Any changes inproducts requirements are carefully evaluated to minimize disruption to the businessdevelopment team and plan.

  • balances out requirements with cost to maximize the value propositionto the customer

  • integrating overall company strategy, product line plansand strategy, competitive analysis, and customer needs into an effectiveproduct strategy and position in the marketplace.

  • contributes to, develops, and maintains product roadmapsand other representations of the product line plan and strategy.

  • uses a reasoned approach to develop forecasts of customerdemand and maintain forecasts as customer demand changes. These forecasts arecommunicated with others in the organization that need this information.

  • works effectively with sales & business developmentteam members and Finance to develop a realistic business case. He/she has agood grasp of the factors which affect the business case.monitors the projectand environment and updates the business case as required.

  • provides needed analysis to support product portfolioplanning. participates in portfolio planning with management, provides usefulinsights and perspectives to prioritize development programs.

  • regularly conducts a critical review of the company productline or product portfolio to identify needed actions to discontinue poorperforming products, overlapping products, or products that requirerepositioning or re-launching.

  • effectively communicates product plans and strategy withmanagement to obtain required decisions, resources or management support andminimize surprises.

  • effectively communicates product plans and product strategywith team members to assure understanding and obtain consensus wherenecessary. As a result, team members are well-aligned with overall plans andunderstand program direction and needed actions.

  • gathers needed customer feedback from demos andcommunicates the results of this feedback to the appropriate team members.uses this feedback to guide making sound decisions for the project.

  • works with Business development, marketing, and digitalteams to develop the product’s promotional and marketing messages.

  • manages any required usability testing and demos, assessthe results, and takes appropriate corrective action.

  • effectively evaluates the market, the competition andestablishes product pricing to maximize profit and long-term sales incoordination with finance and management.

  • supports requests for customer proposals and presentations andensures all relevant materials exist to support the product. creates anddefines tools that enable the sales channels and customers to evaluateproduct options.

  • provides regular and ongoing reporting for management-leveloperational reviews.

  • Based on product performance, determines when actions areneeded to upgrade, improve, revise, or reposition products, or when actionsare needed to revise product promotional programs and product pricing. thendevelops appropriate plans, marshals resources, and executes these productchanges, revised promotional plans, and pricing changes. also determines whenactions are needed to discontinue existing products and then developsappropriate plans to discontinue the product and migrate customers to a newproduct.

  • Achievethe set targets in line with KPIs

Qualifications and skills

  • Degree in information technology or computer science or its equivalent

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in telematics industry.
