Person Specifications
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:
- At least eight (8) years of cumulative relevant work experience, three (3) of which should have served at the supervisory level;
- Master’s Degree in Procurement and Logistics Management, Commerce, Business Administration (Supplies Management Option), or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
- Bachelor's Degree in Procurement and Logistics Management, Commerce, Business Administration (Supplies Management Option), or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; OR Bachelor's degree plus a Post Graduate Diploma in Supplies Management/Logistics and Procurement Management from a recognized institution;
- Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
- Member of Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) of good standing;
- Demonstrated merit in work performance;
- Proficiency in computer application;
- Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution only for the successful applicants.

- Implementing procurement strategies, policies, and procedures;
- Implementing the annual procurement and disposal plans;
- Providing secretariat services to committees incidental to the procurement of goods and services, and disposal of assets;
- Ensuring procured goods, services, and works are as per specifications;
- Raising purchase orders for goods works and services and forwarding for approval;
- Initiating payment processing for goods, works, and services rendered and following up to ensure payment;
- Carrying out market surveys to inform procurement decisions;
- Preparing contract documents and contract modifications;
- Maintaining, safeguarding, and archiving procurement documents and records;
- Maintaining and updating the pre-qualified suppliers list and contract management register;
- Coordinating suppliers’ performance appraisals.
