Mechanical Maintenance Officer

· OND. in Mechanical Engineering or related field

· Experience: Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably in lubricants or chemical production.

Preventive and Corrective Maintenance

· Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to ensure all equipment and machinery operate at peak efficiency and reliability.

· Perform troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repairs of mechanical and hydraulic issues on various plant equipment.

· Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement timely corrective actions to minimize downtime.

Equipment Operations and Monitoring

· Ensure proper setup and readiness of equipment for daily plant operations.

· Monitor and document AGO (diesel) supply to generator service tanks, including daily consumption records.

· Maintain and update checklists for all operational equipment on a daily basis.

Record Keeping and Reporting.

· Maintain accurate maintenance records including work orders, inspection reports, repair logs, and equipment performance history.

· Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on maintenance activities, equipment status, and performance trends.

· Manage spare parts inventory, ensuring optimal stock levels and timely procurement of required components.

Safety, Compliance, and Policy Adherence

· Adhere to all company Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) standards while carrying out maintenance activities.

· Ensure that a Permit to Work (PTW) is raised and approved before commencement of any maintenance or repair task.

· Issue work permits to contractors and ensure pre-job safety meetings, lockout-tag-out (LOTO), confined space entry, and gas monitoring requirements are followed.

Coordination and Continuous Improvement

· Collaborate with plant operators, HSE, and production teams to plan and execute maintenance work with minimal disruption to operations.

· Train operators and support staff on safe equipment operation and basic maintenance practices.

· Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend modifications to enhance equipment reliability and maintenance efficiency.
