Health, Safety and Welfare Officer

Ensure compliance with national and local health, safety, and environmental legislation.

Develop, implement, and regularly update health and safety policies, procedures, and operational manuals.

Conduct routine inspections and workplace audits to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.

Prepare and submit mandatory health and safety reports to government and regulatory bodies.

Ensure proper documentation and certification for compliance and inspections.

Identify, assess, and evaluate risks affecting employee health and workplace safety.

Develop and enforce safety protocols, emergency procedures, and evacuation plans.

Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, or near misses and prepare comprehensive reports with preventive recommendations.

Monitor trends in incident data and implement preventive measures to reduce risks and unsafe practices.

Conduct safety induction programs for all new employees.

Organize regular training sessions, emergency drills, and awareness campaigns on health, safety, and welfare.

Promote a strong safety culture across the organization by encouraging staff engagement in safety programs.

Ensure employees understand their roles and responsibilities in maintaining a safe work environment.

Manage staff housing, feeding, and accommodation arrangements.

Oversee the administration and operations of employee medical cover and the company’s in-house medical facility in coordination with the medical consultant.

Implement programs that promote employee wellness, mental health, and general well-being.

Ensure adequate first aid facilities, medical supplies, and welfare amenities.

Support ergonomic assessments, occupational health checks, and stress management initiatives.

Act as the primary contact for internal and external safety matters, including government inspectors, auditors, and external partners.

Work closely with department heads to integrate safety requirements into daily operations.

Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training, incidents, permits, and compliance certifications.

Consolidate departmental welfare and health needs and align them with HR and organizational goals.

Stay informed on emerging health and safety regulations, trends, and best practices.

Recommend and implement improvements to the organization’s health, safety, and welfare management systems.

Participate in environmental health, sustainability, and related corporate initiatives.
