The Microbiologist is tasked to achieve products safety and quality through 
monitoring and implementing of the set standards both in process and raw
materials.



Responsibilities

The Microbiologist is tasked to achieve products safety and quality through 
monitoring and implementing of the set standards both in process and raw
materials.



  1. Ensuring Quality Assurance /Quality control measures involved in handling processing and safety while working in the laboratory.

  2. Oversee plant(s) compliance and interactions with Quality Assurance.

  3. Develop and maintain systems to assure compliance to all QA requirements including Document Control and Records, Specifications, Verification, Product Identification Trace and Recall, Incident Management, Food Safety Fundamentals.

  4. Oversee planning and scheduling of routine and non-routine duties for the Lab.

  5. Assist in developing and implementing of new Analytical Lab procedures.

  6. Participate in development, writing and maintaining of laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS), work instructions and training of laboratory staff.

  7. Ensure good housekeeping of the laboratory by maintaining tidiness, arrangement of the reagents and equipment.

  8. Keeping an inventory of laboratory materials and initiate replacements as required.

  9. Handle various laboratory equipment operations and their maintenance.

  10. Carry out all microbial tests for products and other necessary tests to be provided for in the Beverage and Microbial lab.

  11. Continuously audit the systems to ensure compliance for both HACCP and GMP.

  12. Report standards deviation on quality standards on time to the production and operators for corrective action.

  13. Ensure product samples are drawn during processing for analysis and continue monitoring alongside the quality team to ensure no deviations.

  14. Provide guidance and leadership in situations where deviations have occurred or a potential risk has been identified related to food safety and/or quality attributes.

  15. Ensure CIP processes are carried out effectively by guiding production team.

  16. Analysis of finished products at beverage plant for microbial compliance.

  17. Ensure plants hygiene is achieved and proper housekeeping as per the requirements through follow up with the attendants and constantly supervising them to achieve the objective.
