Requirements for Appointment:
- Be an employee of Tharaka Nithi County
- A Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following: Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Procurement, Supply Management, Marketing or their equivalent qualification & from a recognized institution
- A Master’s Degree in Supply Chain Related field will be added advantage
- Has a minimum of 5 years’ experience
- A Member of a recognized KISM or SCM professional body
- Proficiency in computer proficiency
- Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results
Responsibilities

The officer reports to the Director Supply Chain Management and will be responsible for assisting the Director Supply Chain Management Services in:
- Analyzing Supply Chain Management structures and system's; determining and proposing methods and strategies of handling the Supply Chain Management function
- Initiating and developing Supply Chain Management policies; and performance improvement strategies that are adaptive to the changing environment and technology
- Coordinate development of strategic plans for the Directorate of Supply Chain Management
- Implementation of Public Procurement and Assets Disposal Act; 2015 and other statutes, rules and regulations and ensuring adherence to the laid down procedures, rules and regulations
- Analyzing the impact of Supply Chain Management policies, rules and regulations
- Advising the Accounting Officer on Supply Chain Management matters
- Ensuring high professional Supply Chain Management standard assisting in procurement planning and budget preparation
- Advising the county Government on Supply Chain Management matters
- Interpreting of other laws and statutes that relate to Supply Chain Management
- Ensuring that all officers working in the supply chain management unit are registered with KISM or any other recognized professional body in SCM
- Any other duty that may be assigned by the supervisor from time to time
