Core Systems & Solutions Manager

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, IT or a related field. A relevant Master’s degree is an added advantage.
  
• Experience: At least 8 years of progressive experience in ISP, telecommunications or large enterprise networking, including a minimum of 3 years in a technical leadership or management role.
  
• Core network depth: Demonstrated hands-on expertise in BGP, MPLS, IS-IS/OSPF, DWDM/OTN transmission, GPON/FTTx and carrier-grade routing/switching.
  
• Operations leadership: Proven track record running 24/7 NOC/SOC operations and owning availability/SLA outcomes for a production network.
  
• People leadership: Experience building, mentoring and retaining multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  

Responsibilities

• Core Network Architecture & Engineering- Own the design, deployment and lifecycle of the ISP core, backbone, aggregation and access network across both data-centre sites and the autonomous systems Vilcom operates.
  
• Service availability, operations & SLAs management- Maintain 99.99% core network availability at the data-centre level through proactive architecture, monitoring and strategic peering
  
• Cybersecurity, Systems & Compliance- Lead the Security Operations Centre in proactive monitoring, SIEM operation, quarterly audits and incident response
  
• Product & Digital Solutions Delivery- Direct the development and delivery of SaaS and SECaaS products, including custom web and mobile applications and internal business-systems automation
  
• Leadership, vendor and stakeholder management- Manage team and partners productivity
