Description
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, Safety Management, or a related field.
- 3- 5 years of Relevant EHS/HSE experience in a manufacturing, industrial, construction, or factory environment will be an advantage.
- NEBOSH certification is an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Workplace & Factory Inspections:
- Conduct daily workplace, production area, warehouse, machinery, and factory inspections to identify hazards, unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and HSE non-compliance.
- Monitor compliance with company EHS policies, procedures, safe work practices, and applicable statutory requirements.
- Document inspection findings and prepare reports for management.
- Follow up on identified hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented and effectively closed.
Risk Assessment & Hazard Control
- Identify workplace hazards and participate in risk assessments for different work activities and processes.
- Recommend appropriate control measures based on the hierarchy of controls.
- Monitor the effectiveness of implemented controls and recommend improvements where necessary.
- Support Job Safety Analysis (JSA/JHA) and safe work procedure development.
Safety Awareness & Communication:
- Conduct daily or scheduled toolbox talks and safety briefings before work activities.
- Conduct safety awareness sessions and campaigns for employees and contractors.
- Promote positive safety behavior and encourage employees to report hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
Incident & Accident Management
- Assist in investigating workplace accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe occurrences.
- Collect relevant information, interview witnesses, document findings, and support root-cause analysis.
- Assist in developing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Monitor implementation and closure of incident investigation recommendations
EHS Training
- Assist in conducting EHS induction and refresher training for new and existing employees.
- Support training on PPE use, fire safety, manual handling, machine safety, chemical safety, working at height, and other relevant safety topics.
- Maintain accurate records of EHS training and employee attendance.
EHS Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate EHS records, inspection checklists, incident reports, risk assessments, training records, and corrective action registers.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly EHS reports as required.
- Monitor safety performance indicators and highlight areas requiring management attention.
- Ensure EHS documentation is properly maintained and readily available for audits and inspections.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Monitor proper use of PPE within the factory and other designated work areas.
- Identify PPE requirements based on workplace hazards.
- Report PPE non-compliance and support corrective action.
- Assist in maintaining PPE inspection and issuance records where applicable.
