Knowledge, experience and qualifications required
- Degree in Social Sciences, Human Resource Management, Business Administration or other related fields.
- 4 - 5 years’ experience in human resources.
- CHRP(K) or Higher Diploma in HR
- Must a member of the Institute of Human Resources Management (IHRM).
Competencies
- Knowledge of best practices and approaches in human resource management.
- Expertise in compensation and benefits structures
- Broad knowledge in recruitment, performance management, disciplinary, employee relations, as well as learning and development.
- Knowledge of the Kenyan Labour Laws.
- Knowledge of developing HR policies, procedures and processes.
- Exceptionally self-motivated and directed.
- Exceptional service orientation.
- Outstanding communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and facilitation skills.
- High level interpersonal and cross-cultural skills
- Must be a self-starter and highly organized,
- Ability to work well with people at all levels in the organization.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.

Working Conditions:

- Prepare and update monthly payroll file submissions and ensure accuracy and integrity of data.
- Prepare monthly employee pay slip advice information within 24 hours of request receipt
- Ensure accurate preparation and submission of employee tax return forms by 1st of February annually
- Develop an equitable compensation and benefits structure. Plan and implement annual salary and bonus review process
- Review casual wages payment in compliance with the daily attendance.
- Lead the staff benefits schemes including the medical scheme, pension etc., in line with the established guidelines.
- Review job advertisement for vacant jobs as and when they fall due in consultation with the Human Resources Assistant.
- Carry out interview pre-screening calls and conduct interviews together with department heads to identify best fit for open positions
- Ensure completion of the recruitment cycle according to company policy.
- Oversee and regularly update the company’s on-boarding protocols for new joiners in line with established guidelines.
- Support the exit clearance process for staff in line with the established guidelines.
- Support the annual performance management cycle with staff and line mangers in compliance with the internal deadlines.
- Draft internal communications and maintain an accurate and update log of all staff communications.
- Oversee implementation of the company’s annual leave plan.
- Develop and implement annual staff training programs, administer and report on post training evaluation outcomes and feedback.
- Lead the implementation of a internal learning management system and regularly update staff trainings
- Maintain accurate tracker on staff training initiatives in line with QMS guidelines
- Develop and implement annual staff engagement strategy, calendar plan and engagement meetings as well as monitor and report on staff feedback on internal and social media platforms.
- Oversee maintenance of staff personal files to ensure accurate and up to date records.
- Participate in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Oversee implementation of staff welfare programs including staff parties, & other well-being initiatives in line with the established guidelines.
- Any other work that may be assigned to the jobholder by the supervisor from time to time.
