Laboratory Technologist

Duties and Responsibilities

This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities will include:-

• Cleaning and Sterilizing laboratory glassware
• Documenting and receiving samples for analysis;
• Preparing laboratory reagents;
• Preparing and analyzing geological samples, gemstones; and
• Disposing of laboratory waste.

For appointment to this grade

A candidate must have a Diploma in any of the following fields:

• Applied Sciences (Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry), Laboratory, or Biotechnology from a recognized institution
