What you will need:

  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree or its equivalent from a recognized University.
  • Completion of Post Graduate Diploma from Kenya School of Law and has undertaken pupillage.
  • At least one year experience in the provision of legal services in a reputable law firm or the legal department of a leading corporate institution.

  • Assist in negotiating, drafting and reviewing contracts, leases and other legal instruments entered into by the Company and third parties and ensuring that they are in compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in provision of advice on the legal aspects of day-to-day operational matters affecting the Company and legal opinions and interpretations on various legal matters as required including interpretation of court and arbitral rulings affecting the Company.
  • Assist in reviewing ongoing cases filed by and against the Company.
  • Assist in reviewing progress of outstanding litigation and liaising with and managing external lawyer on all matters litigation and attending court as and when required.
  • Preparation of reports and schedules on litigation, contracts and regulatory matters.
  • Assist in continuously monitoring developments in relevant laws, compliance with statutory obligations and conducting legal research to enhance service delivery and advise to management accordingly.
  • Assist in reviewing all contracts or any other documentation where the Company has committed itself and assessing legal implications that need to be brought to the executive management’s attention.
  • Assist in reviewing and advising management on legal implications of internal policies and procedures.
  • Assist in conducting trainings for staff on emerging issues across the Company or areas of need to improve the Company’s processes.
  • Assist in handling correspondence, acknowledgement of receipt of service of the court process on behalf of the Company.
