Machine Tool Worker

The Machine Tool Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining lathe, milling, and drilling machines to fabricate, modify, and repair mechanical parts required for electrical and production equipment maintenance.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Diploma or Craft Certificate in Mechanical Engineering / Production Technology / Machining Technology.
  
• Minimum 3 years’ experience operating lathe, milling, and drilling machines in an industrial setting.
  
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  
• Good knowledge of machine tool safety procedures.
  
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  
• Ability to work under minimal supervision.
  

Key Responsibilities

• Operate conventional lathe machines for turning, threading, and shaping metal components.
  
• Operate milling machines for cutting, slotting, shaping, and precision machining.
  
• Operate drilling machines for accurate drilling, boring, and tapping operations.
  
• Fabricate spare parts for motors, conveyors, gearboxes, and other plant equipment.
  
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  
• Measure and inspect finished parts using vernier calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools.
  
• Perform preventive maintenance on machine tools.
  
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and workshop housekeeping.
  
• Work closely with the Electrical Maintenance team during breakdowns and plant shutdowns.
  
• Maintain proper documentation of fabricated components and repairs.
