Mechanical Technician

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for maintaining updated inventory
  
• Responsible for overall maintenance of equipment and facilities within the designated work station ensuring they are in good working condition and order
  
• Cleanliness, organization and general layout of the work station
  
• Responsible for issuing and receiving tools and equipment to and from trainers and trainees
  
• Reporting to section heads on delays, problems, materials equipment needed and progress on practical requisitions
  
• Preparation and assembly of practical materials
  
• Ensuring safety of the workshop and equipment
  
• Responsible for supervising and ensuring safety measures amongst trainees and any attachees in the workshop
  
• Carrying out maintenance in other areas within the institute for which he/she is knowledgeable and is called upon to do so
  

Requirements

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
  
• Must have at least 3 years' experience with a reputable institution
  
• Knowledge in operating Milling and Lathe Machines (Both conventional and CNC)
  
• Certificate in welding and fabrication is an added advantage
  
• Registered with Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK)
  
• Must be computer literate
  
• Above the age of 25 years
