Responsibilities
Purpose of the Role
The QA & Compliance Officer will support day-to-day quality assurance and compliance activities across raw material receiving, production, packaging, sanitation, storage, documentation, and internal monitoring.
The role exists to help ensure that Plumbee’s products, people, processes, and factory environment consistently meet internal quality requirements, food safety standards, hygiene rules, and applicable regulatory obligations.
Key Objectives of the Role
Maintain strong day-to-day quality control and food safety discipline on the factory floor.
Support compliance with Plumbee’s internal quality procedures, hygiene rules, GMP requirements, and regulatory obligations.
Ensure raw materials, production processes, packaging, and finished products are checked against approved standards.
Maintain complete, accurate, and well-organised quality and compliance records.
Identify non-conformities early, report them promptly, and follow up corrective actions.
Support audit readiness, traceability, and continuous improvement of factory systems.
Scope of Work / Key Responsibilities
A.Production Quality Monitoring
Monitor production activities to ensure compliance with approved recipes,
specifications, process instructions, and standard operating procedures.Carry out routine in-process quality checks during production and packing.
Confirm that correct raw materials and packaging materials are issued and used.
Verify product conformity on basic parameters such as appearance, colour, texture, weight, fill level, coding, sealing, labelling, and pack presentation.
Ensure line clearance and area readiness before production starts.
Check that non-conforming materials or products are properly identified and segregated.
Immediately escalate any quality deviations observed during production.
B. Food Safety, Hygiene and GMP Monitoring
Monitor compliance with food safety rules, hygiene procedures, sanitation requirements, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Inspect personnel hygiene, handwashing practices, protective clothing, factory entry controls, and movement discipline in production areas.
Check cleanliness and orderliness of processing rooms, equipment, utensils, packaging stations, stores, and surrounding work areas.
Verify that cleaning schedules, sanitation procedures, and pre-operation hygiene checks are followed and recorded correctly.
Report poor hygiene practices, contamination risks, or sanitation gaps and follow up corrective action.
C. Raw Material and Packaging Inspection
Support inspection of incoming raw materials and packaging materials before acceptance and use.
Check materials for condition, cleanliness, visible defects, expiry dates, batch details, labelling, and general conformity to requirement.
Flag any damaged, contaminated, expired, or otherwise non-conforming materials.
Support storage quality checks to ensure materials are stored properly and protected from contamination or damage.
D. Finished Product Inspection and Release Support
Inspect finished products before release to storage or dispatch.
Confirm compliance with basic standards for pack integrity, seal quality, coding accuracy, labelling correctness, and visual product acceptability.
Ensure non-conforming finished products are identified, isolated, and reported.
Support retention sampling, sample labelling, and finished product traceability records where required.
E. Quality Records, Documentation and Traceability
Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality assurance records and compliance files.
Complete inspection forms, production quality check sheets, sanitation logs, receiving
records, temperature logs, deviation reports, and other assigned quality documents.Ensure records are completed correctly, signed where required, and filed systematically for easy retrieval.
Support batch documentation and traceability from raw material intake to finished product.
Assist in control of forms, SOPs, registers, checklists, and other quality documents.
F. Non-Conformance, CAPA and Continuous Improvement
Identify and document non-conformities relating to product quality, process controls, hygiene, documentation, materials, or staff practices.
Raise issues promptly to the supervisor or Factory Manager for action.
Follow up corrective and preventive actions to ensure they are implemented and closed properly.
Support a culture of root-cause thinking, problem prevention, and continuous improvement.
G. Compliance and Regulatory Support
Support Plumbee’s compliance with applicable food safety, quality, public health, and regulatory requirements.
Help prepare records and files required for inspections, audits, and certification processes.
Support implementation and maintenance of compliance systems related to KEBS, food handling, hygiene, labelling, and factory requirements.
Track assigned compliance actions, licence records, inspection findings, and follow-up items.
H. Laboratory / Testing Support
Support sample collection, sample handling, and sample labelling according to instruction.
Assist with basic quality control or laboratory-related activities under supervision where applicable.
Help maintain cleanliness, order, and discipline in the quality control or laboratory area.
Ensure sample registers and related records are maintained properly.
I. Staff Support and Quality Culture
Reinforce adherence to factory rules, SOPs, hygiene standards, and food safety discipline through daily monitoring.
Support induction or sensitisation of production staff on hygiene, GMP, and quality expectations where assigned.
Promote a quality-first mindset and professional conduct on the factory floor.
Expected Deliverables
Daily quality, hygiene, and compliance checks completed and recorded accurately.
Incoming material inspection records maintained consistently.
In-process and finished product inspection records completed correctly.
Quality deviations and non-conformities reported early and clearly.
Corrective action follow-up records maintained and tracked.
Quality and compliance files kept organised, complete, and audit-ready.
Support provided for inspections, certification, and regulatory follow-up processes.
Visible daily quality presence and discipline maintained on the production floor.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or Food Technology (mandatory).
This is an entry-level position and is suitable for a recent graduate or candidate with limited early work experience.
Industrial attachment, internship, or practical exposure in a food processing or manufacturing environment is an added advantage.
Required Skills and Competencies

Good documentation, record-keeping, and organisational ability.
Basic understanding of food safety, hygiene, GMP, and quality assurance principles.
Ability to follow procedures consistently and enforce standards respectfully.

Willingness to spend time on the factory floor and work in a structured production environment.
Basic computer skills, especially Word, Excel, and digital filing.
Ability to learn quickly, receive direction well, and grow with the role.
