Qualifications
· Medical Degree (MBBS, MBBCh, MD) from a recognized medical school.
· Completed Fellowship or Residency in Cardiology from a reputable institution.
· Valid medical license
Experience
· Extensive experience (5 -7 years) as a consultant interventional cardiology.
· Extensive experience and successful track record of building effective partnerships with medical colleagues.
· Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients.
· Special skills training in percutaneous coronary intervention.
· Experience in electrophysiology well be a bonus.
Responsibilities
Clinical Care and Leadership
· Take leadership in the explanation of procedures and diagnostic results with patients.
· Take ownership in approving the discharge, follow-up, medical reports of patients.
· Take ownership of collaboration with colleagues to deliver a high quality, timely service and to work towards meeting the AMCE’s and departmental objectives.
Strategic Development
· Participate in clinical research in order to develop new interventional cardiology techniques for treating disease.
· Assist in the review of current policies/procedures relating to interventional cardiology, offering advice on new practices that could be implemented within the department.
· Develop and implement strategic plans to improve patient outcomes.
Governance and Quality Assurance
· Ensure correct governance arrangements, which include the management of finance and regulatory activity where appropriate.
· Assist In the monitoring of resource utilisation, supplies and expenses ensuring that this complies with organisational parameters.
· Ensure personal and departmental compliance with the applicable statutory guidance, carrying out practices that meet the statutory regulations and guidelines.
