Qualifications
· Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
· Fellowship or Board Certification in Radiation Oncology/Clinical Oncology and a valid medical license
· Postgraduate qualification in a relevant oncology subspecialty (desirable).
Experience
· Minimum of 7 years of post-certification experience in clinical radiation oncology.
· Proven expertise in advanced radiotherapy techniques such as IMRT, VMAT, SBRT, and brachytherapy.
· Demonstrated experience in a multidisciplinary oncology environment.
Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership and Radiotherapy Services
· Provide expert consultation, diagnosis, and management for patients requiring radiation oncology services.
· Develop, prescribe, and oversee the delivery of complex radiotherapy treatment plans using advanced technologies.
Ensure accurate and timely treatment planning, verification, and administration in collaboration with medical physicists and dosimetrists.
· Collaborate closely with surgical oncologists, medical oncologists, pathologists, and other specialists in multidisciplinary team meetings to determine optimal patient care pathways.
Quality Assurance and Patient Safety
· Implement and monitor rigorous quality assurance and safety protocols for all radiotherapy equipment and procedures in line with international standards
· Ensure strict compliance with national regulatory frameworks, radiation safety guidelines, and hospital clinical governance policies.
· Lead and participate in clinical audits and incident reporting to continuously improve patient safety and treatment quality.
Innovation, Research and Development
· Drive the adoption of new radiotherapy techniques, technologies, and clinical protocols to enhance treatment efficacy and patient experience.
· Participate in and lead clinical research projects, contributing to the evidence base in radiation oncology and encouraging publications.
· Contribute to AMCE’s academic mission through teaching, training, and mentoring of residents, fellows, and staff.
Leadership and Mentorship
· Provide professional supervision, mentorship, and training for junior doctors, registrars, and clinical fellows in radiation oncology.
· Conduct regular performance reviews and support the professional development of team members.
· Foster a collaborative, supportive, and high-performing environment within the radiotherapy department.
Strategic and Administrative Responsibilities
· Participate in the strategic planning and development of radiation oncology services, including budgeting and resource management.
