Description
  • Master's degree in Law, Public Administration, Social Sciences or another related discipline, obtained from a recognized University, at a minimum;
  • Twelve years of professional experience, including six years of relevant international experience and five years at a supervisory level;
  • Knowledge and understanding of the theories, concepts, and approaches relevant to ECOWAS integration programs;
  • Experience in managing parliamentary procedures, processes, and practices;
  • Knowledge of strategic planning, implementation and general management;
Responsibilities

  • To plan and coordinate the activities of the Directorate of Parliamentary Affairs and Research;
  • To organize and ensure the proper functioning of parliamentary procedures;
  • Drafting reports for parliamentary sessions; coordinating and supervising the activities of the units responsible for information and documentation;
  • To coordinate the drafting of the agenda and work program for the sessions of Parliament and parliamentary bodies;
  • Prepare the preliminary draft of the Parliament's annual activity report in collaboration with the other Directorates/Divisions of the General Secretariat.
  • To support the maintenance of relations between the Community Parliament and national parliaments, as well as with interparliamentary institutions;
  • To assist the Secretary-General in planning and carrying out the activities of Parliament;
  • To perform any other duties assigned to him/her;
