Description
  • Hold at least a Master's degree in Social Sciences or any other related discipline obtained from a recognized university.
  • Have at least twelve (12) years of professional experience, including six (6) at the international level and five (5) in a supervisory position.
  • To have knowledge and understanding of the theories, concepts and approaches applicable to ECOWAS integration programs;
  • In-depth knowledge of parliamentary procedures, processes and practices.
  • Knowledge of strategic planning, its implementation and general management.
Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate the activities of the Parliamentary Affairs and Research Directorate.
  • To organize and ensure the smooth running of the parliamentary procedure.
  • Drafting reports of parliamentary sessions; coordinating and supervising the activities of the Research and Documentation Division.
  • Coordinate the preparation of the agenda and work program for the sessions of Parliament and its bodies.
  • Prepare the preliminary draft of the Parliament's annual activity report in collaboration with the other directorates/divisions of the General Secretariat.
  • To contribute to maintaining relations between the ECOWAS Parliament and national parliaments, as well as with inter-parliamentary institutions.
  • To assist the Secretary-General in the planning and implementation of Parliament's activities.
  • Any other task that might be assigned to him.
