Associate Consultant - Cardiac Critical Care

To provide comprehensive specialist care in the management of cardiac critical care patients with the aim of achieving optimal patient outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and manage cardiac conditions and complications in critical care.
  

• Assist in planning and coordinating Continuing Professional Development in the area of specialty for health professionals at the institute.
  

• Plan, coordinate, and conduct operational research in the area of specialty.
  

• Manage referral systems for patients at appropriate levels.
  

• Ensure that discipline and the code of conduct are observed by staff under supervision.
  

• Provide technical and professional advice in area of specialty.
  

• Advise on procurement of equipment, drugs, and other logistics required for the specialty.
  

Person/Job Specifications:

• MB.Ch.B. degree or its equivalent from a recognized university or institution.
  

• Master of Medicine (Anaesthesia, Surgery, Internal Medicine) or its equivalent from a recognized university, with training in the specialty.
  

• Registered with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council.
  

• Valid practicing license.
  

• Demonstrated interest in research.
  

Experience:

• Working experience of at least three (3) years in general or critical care medicine.
