Associate Consultant - Paediatric Cardiology

To provide specialized paediatric cardiac care to infants and children with cardiovascular conditions through accurate diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing follow-up, with the aim of improving cardiovascular health outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and treat cardiovascular conditions.
  

• Conduct ward rounds in the specialty area.
  

• Participate in training programmes for health professionals in Paediatric Cardiology.
  

• Supervise medical officers, interns, and trainees.
  

• Identify procurement needs of the department for equipment, drugs, and other logistics.
  

• Participate in preparation of departmental workplans, budgets, and reports.
  

• Prepare duty rosters.
  

Person/Job Specifications:

• MB.Ch.B. or equivalent from a recognized university.
  

• Master of Medicine degree in Paediatrics and Child Health or equivalent from a recognized university.
  

• Fellowship in Paediatric Cardiology or a Master's in Paediatric Cardiology from a recognized institution.
  

• Registered with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council.
  

• Valid practicing license.
  

Experience:

• Working experience of at least three (3) years at a Medical Officer level.
