The Consortium MEAL Specialist will provide support in developing, implementing, and maintaining effective and appropriate monitoring and evaluation systems for all project activities implemented under the consortium. The post will involve coordination with project implementation teams in line with reporting requirements, and with FCA guidelines, policies, and best practices.


Requirements

  • Postgraduate studies in Monitoring and Evaluation or any other advanced training in MEAL, quantitative analysis, or data base management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, social sciences, social work, development studies or a related degree from a recognized university.
  • Minimum of 3 years work experience in MEAL in any related field of education, community development, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of SPSS or other data analysis packages.
  • Experience in education and Protection is an added advantage.

  • Supports in the day-to-day implementation of education projects, ensuring activities are carried out efficiently and effectively.
  • Participate in developing project work plan and mobilising schools and communities to participate in planned activities as guided by the project budget and timeline.
  • Promoting child protection and child safeguarding activities within the school environment in collaboration with other relevant staff and stakeholders.
  • Conducting regular classroom observations and mentorship of teachers to improve the classroom management, teaching and learning process.
  • Participate in identifying teacher-training needs and planning and implementation of capacity-building measures for teachers and school stakeholders.
  • Regularly visit each school to strengthen relationship with teachers, schools and learners to enhance educational outcomes.
  • Ensuring participation of school and education stakeholders in project and school activities e.g. community meetings, sensitisations, dialogues, etc.
  • Supporting Project Officers in reporting and distribution of scholastic materials and monitoring utilisation to ensure they are appropriately used.
  • Support schools implement performance appraisal of teachers in accordance with MoES guidelines.
