Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information management, Statistics, Computer Science, Social Work, Development Studies, or related field.
  • Additional certification in data management, database systems, or information systems is an added advantage.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in data management, preferably within protection or humanitarian programming.
  • Proven experience working with protection data systems (e.g., CPIMS, GBVIMS, or similar).
  • Experience in data analysis, dashboard development, and donor reporting.
Responsibilities
1. Data Management and Systems Strengthening
  • Design, maintain, and improve data management systems for protection programming (e.g., CPIMS/GBVIMS or similar platforms).
  • Ensure accurate, complete, and timely data entry by caseworkers and field teams.
  • Develop and maintain data management plans, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and data flow diagrams.
  • Conduct regular data quality checks (DQAs) to ensure consistency, accuracy, and reliability.
2. Data Analysis and Reporting
  • Analyse protection data to identify trends, gaps, risks, and service needs.
  • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual internal and donor reports.
  • Develop dashboards, visualizations, and statistical summaries to support program decision-making.
3. Data Protection and Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with organizational data protection policies and international standards (e.g., CPIMS SOPs, IASC data protection guidelines).
  • Safeguard sensitive protection data, especially concerning children, GBV survivors, and other vulnerable groups.
  • Control database access and maintain user permissions.
4. Capacity Building and Technical Support
  • Train case workers, Protection Officers, and field staff on data collection tools and information management systems.
  • Develop user guides, training materials, and refresher sessions.
  • Provide ongoing troubleshooting and technical support.
5. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEAL) Support
  • Collaborate with MEAL teams to ensure alignment between indicators, tools, and reporting systems.
  • Support development and revision of data collection tools.
  • Contribute to evaluations, assessments, and learning reviews.
  • Ensure indicators are properly defined, tracked, and reported.
6. Coordination and Collaboration
  • Work closely with Protection Managers, Coordinators, and field teams to ensure data informs programming.
  • Support inter-agency information sharing mechanisms where appropriate and compliant.
  • Participate in protection working group data initiatives as required.
