The Senior Health Communications Advisor will work with the Public Affairs Section to develop Mission-wide strategic health messaging and communication plans to increase awareness of USG’s health programs in Uganda among targeted audiences. They will be the advisor on all public awareness campaigns in health and will advise the IAHT and PEPFAR Coordination Office on press and media events, organize press and media relations and events, maintain press and media contacts, develop remarks and media materials (e.g., social media posts, press releases, brochures, fact sheets, visual displays, audio and video materials) and coordinate with relevant staff to promote press and media coverage of health activities.


Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, public health, public relations, or international studies is required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional level experience in communication, journalism, public relations, or marketing which includes the development and management of written and electronic communication materials with some background in health communications is required.
