Requirements

Applicants must possess:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition Sciences from a recognized institution.

Experience

The ideal candidate should have:

  • At least five (5) years of proven experience in implementing gender-sensitive community-based nutrition programs.
  • Demonstrated experience in community mobilization and nutrition behavior change interventions.
  • Proven experience integrating nutrition into agriculture, food security, and livelihood programs.
  • Experience working in refugee settlements and host community settings.


Responsibilities

Nutrition Program Implementation

  • Lead the implementation of nutrition activities in line with project objectives and national nutrition guidelines.
  • Integrate nutrition-sensitive approaches into agricultural production, food security, and livelihood interventions.
  • Promote diversified food production and consumption through kitchen gardens, climate-smart agriculture, and nutrition-sensitive farming practices.

Community Mobilization and Nutrition Education

  • Conduct community-based nutrition education and awareness campaigns.
  • Develop and implement behavior change communication (BCC) strategies to improve household nutrition practices.
  • Train community nutrition volunteers, lead farmers, community health workers, and local leaders.

Integration of Nutrition into Agriculture and Food Security Programs

  • Ensure effective integration of nutrition objectives into climate-smart agriculture and food security interventions.
  • Support establishment of nutrition-sensitive demonstration plots, kitchen gardens, and household food production initiatives.
  • Promote production and consumption of nutrient-rich crops and diversified food systems.

Gender, Social Inclusion and Community Engagement

  • Promote gender-sensitive approaches in nutrition programming.
  • Ensure active participation of women, men, youth, refugees, and vulnerable groups in project activities.
  • Address barriers affecting access to nutritious food and nutrition services.
  • Strengthen community ownership and participation in nutrition interventions.

Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning

  • Support development and implementation of nutrition monitoring frameworks and indicators.
  • Collect, analyze, and report nutrition-related data and project achievements.
  • Conduct routine monitoring and supportive supervision of field activities.

Stakeholder Coordination and Partnerships

  • Collaborate with district authorities, health facilities, government agencies, NGOs, UN agencies, and community structures.
  • Participate in nutrition, food security, and livelihood coordination meetings.
  • Build partnerships that strengthen nutrition programming and sustainability.

Compliance and Safeguarding

  • Ensure compliance with donor requirements, organizational policies, and national nutrition guidelines.
  • Promote safeguarding, accountability, gender equality, and inclusion in all project activities.
  • Ensure nutrition interventions adhere to humanitarian principles and ethical standards.
