Description
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related engineering field.
- Master’s degree in a relevant field is desired but not required.
- Registration with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) and membership in a relevant professional body are added advantages.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience managing water, sanitation, infrastructure, or community development projects.
- Demonstrated experience in project planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting.
- Experience in rural water supply systems, construction supervision, and contractor management preferred.
- Experience working with NGOs, faith-based organizations, or international development organizations is an advantage.
Responsibilities
1 Mission Driven
- Maintain a strong Christian witness and model servant leadership to colleagues, donors, partners, volunteers, the communities we serve, and the public.
- Lead and participate in prayer before and after team meetings.
- Lead and participate in biblically based staff devotions.
- Understand, support, exemplify, and nurture the mission, vision, values, and standards of Water Mission.
- Promote a culture of accountability across the organization.
2 Project Management and Implementation
- Provide overall project management oversight for all assigned tasks and projects.
- Develop project implementation plans, schedules, budgets, and resource requirements.
- Ensure projects are implemented according to approved scope, timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Coordinate project activities with internal departments, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.
3 Community Assessments and Project Development
- Support site assessments, feasibility studies, and project evaluations.
- Support water quality and quantity assessments, survey measurements, and other technical investigations.
- Collaborate with Community Development and Program teams during project identification and planning.
4 Monitoring, Reporting, and Documentation
- Maintain accurate project records, reports, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Provide timely and accurate project updates to the Country Director and relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure Water Mission data bases are updated regularly and are accurate for all active projects in accordance with Water Mission requirements.
- Prepare project completion reports and lessons learned documentation.
