Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related engineering field.
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field is desired but not required.
  • Registration with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) and membership in a relevant professional body are added advantages.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience managing water, sanitation, infrastructure, or community development projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in project planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Experience in rural water supply systems, construction supervision, and contractor management preferred.
  • Experience working with NGOs, faith-based organizations, or international development organizations is an advantage.


Responsibilities

1 Mission Driven

  • Maintain a strong Christian witness and model servant leadership to colleagues, donors, partners, volunteers, the communities we serve, and the public.
  • Lead and participate in prayer before and after team meetings.
  • Lead and participate in biblically based staff devotions.
  • Understand, support, exemplify, and nurture the mission, vision, values, and standards of Water Mission.
  • Promote a culture of accountability across the organization.

2 Project Management and Implementation

  • Provide overall project management oversight for all assigned tasks and projects.
  • Develop project implementation plans, schedules, budgets, and resource requirements.
  • Ensure projects are implemented according to approved scope, timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate project activities with internal departments, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.

3 Community Assessments and Project Development

  • Support site assessments, feasibility studies, and project evaluations.
  • Support water quality and quantity assessments, survey measurements, and other technical investigations.
  • Collaborate with Community Development and Program teams during project identification and planning.

4 Monitoring, Reporting, and Documentation

  • Maintain accurate project records, reports, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Provide timely and accurate project updates to the Country Director and relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure Water Mission data bases are updated regularly and are accurate for all active projects in accordance with Water Mission requirements.
  • Prepare project completion reports and lessons learned documentation.
