Description

To be successful in this role, you must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working with vulnerable communities, basic needs and protection programming experience, and/or advocacy programs. Moreover, we also expect the following.

Required

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Social sciences, Social work and social administration, Development studies, Guidance and counselling or any related field.

  • Professional experience in Child Protection.

  • Experience in protection interventions in line with Refugees operation with wide Child Protection.

  • Experience of working with UN or Non‐Governmental organizations.

  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is essential.

  • Good communication skills and ability to conduct training and awareness.

  • Computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point)

  • Good self-organization and basic management skills.

  • Familiarity with Monitoring & Evaluation for UN-funded projects desired.

Responsibilities

Project implementation and adherence to standards

  • Support the implementation of child protection activities, including case management services for children at risk and unaccompanied and separated children.

  • Ensure case management services follow child protection minimum standards and best interest procedures.

  • Oversee support to interim care arrangements for UASC while family tracing and reunification processes are ongoing.

  • Support the implementation of awareness raising activities on child protection risks and available services, as well as orientation sessions for caregivers on positive parenting practices.

  • Support timely documentation and reporting of child protection activities, including case management trends and community-based interventions.

Coordination and representation

  • Participate in child protection and protection coordination meetings at settlement level and maintain regular coordination with relevant service providers supporting children at risk.

  • Liaise with community structures, local leaders, and relevant actors to strengthen safe identification and referral of children facing protection risks.

  • Coordinate closely with GBV, legal aid, and other protection actors to ensure integrated response for children at risk, including unaccompanied and separated children (UASC).

Staff technical supervision

  • Provide technical guidance and day-to-day support to Child Protection case workers and prevention and capacity-building assistants.

  • Conduct regular case reviews and case conferences to ensure quality case management and appropriate follow-up for children at risk.

  • Support capacity building of Child Protection staff on case management procedures, safe referrals, and best interest considerations for children.

Logistics /Finance

  • Support planning and implementation of Child Protection activities, ensuring required materials and resources are available for case management and community engagement activities.

  • Coordinate with logistics and finance teams to support timely implementation of planned child protection activities.

  • Monitor activity-related expenditures and ensure compliance with project budgets and internal procedures.
