Academic Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
•Registration and/or membership with recognized professional bodies i.e. Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and Uganda Institution of Professional Engineers (UIPE) or its equivalent, ORHVS training and certification will be an added advantage.
Experience
•Minimum of 4 years of experience in engineering auditing.
•Knowledge of asset management, maintenance processes, and engineering standards is a must.
•Experience in auditing or risk assessment within the utility or energy sector is preferred.
Responsibilities
1.Conduct audits of engineering projects, processes, and maintenance activities
2.Assess the effectiveness of internal controls, technical procedures, and safety measures
3.Identify risks related to engineering operations, including technical, safety, and operational risks
4.Recommend and follow up on corrective actions to mitigate identified risks
5.Ensure compliance with engineering policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards
6.Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of technical workflows and processes
7.Supervise and guide Internal Auditors and Graduate Trainees in engineering-related audits
8.Provide training, mentorship, and feedback to junior team members
9.Prepare detailed audit reports with findings, risks, and recommendations for process improvement
10.Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of audit work performed
11.Identify opportunities for improvement in engineering processes and recommend best practices
12.Promote innovation and efficiency in technical operations.
