Required academic Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Power Systems Engineering.
Additional professional certifications in network analysis, power systems modeling, or related fields are desired but not required.
Corporate member of UIPE and registered Engineer with ERB will be an added advantage
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in network design and planning in the electricity distribution industry.
Extensive experience in power flow analysis and network optimization using software tools (e.g., PSS/E, ETAP, Dig Silent Power Factory).
Familiarity with electrical protection schemes, including short-circuit analysis, load flow, and relay coordination studies.
Experience with designing and optimizing electrical systems to meet safety, efficiency, and reliability standards.
Responsibilities
1.Prepare design solutions to enhance the performance of the electrical network, including capacity upgrades, load balancing, and fault protection.
2.Work closely with electrical design engineers, operations teams, and construction teams to ensure that all network changes are based on sound analytical studies.
3.Provide guidance to junior engineers and planning staff on best practices for network analysis, optimization, and design.
4.Ensure collaboration and communication between various departments involved in the design, maintenance, and upgrade of the electrical network.
5.Ensure that all network operational and optimization activities comply with industry regulations, safety standards, and internal company policies.
