Theatre Attendant

Support surgical and nursing teams in preparing and maintaining operating rooms, equipment, instruments, and patient transport to facilitate efficient surgical procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms with necessary equipment and supplies, ensuring a sterile environment.
  

• Maintain sterility by adhering to infection prevention protocols, sterilizing equipment, and maintaining operating room cleanliness.
  

• Manage equipment and clean surgical instruments.
  

• Assist with patient positioning, transport, and preparation for surgery, ensuring safety and comfort.
  

• Monitor and restock surgical supplies and consumables.
  

• Maintain accurate documentation of equipment, linen, and theater stock.
  

• Handle used instruments post-surgery, dispatch to CSSD, and collect sterile packs from CSSD.
  

• Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable theatre environment.
  

Person/Job Specifications:

• Uganda Certificate of Education (O-Level) or equivalent.
  

• Certificate in a relevant healthcare attendant field is an added advantage.
