Ughh procrastination!
It happens to the best of us regardless of how productive and motivated we may be. From top executives to junior representatives and even the supporting staff, we all fall prey to procrastination. It's just one of those things that we know very well is bad for us, but we do it anyway.
Sometimes even when we need to get something done, our self-control loses the battle, and we relegate it to the “I’ll do it later” pile. It’s a natural human trait, and it doesn’t mean that there’s anything wrong with you. It usually occurs when we’re trying to avoid ‘real’ work by practically doing something else — like navigating through your social media apps when you have a major project due. Sounds familiar?
But here's something that you might not know. According to Dr. Fuschia Sirois' research, people prone to procrastination showed higher stress levels. This translates to low productivity. Having a low productivity record at your workplace is not something you want.
That being the case, if we become more compassionate with ourselves by accepting and forgiving ourselves for procrastinating, we can escape the never-ending cycle of further procrastination.
