Job Overview
The job holder will report to the Shift Team Leader and will operate and maintain plant machines during the shift to achieve the set target.
Key Responsibilities
Operate the equipment to achieve and improve the Maximum Demonstrated Rates (MDR) of different product standards.
Achieve the set product quality parameters at the intermediate stage.
Comply with all Food Safety Management System requirements.
Inform the Team leader in case of deviations from the required operating and product parameters, and carry out troubleshooting to identify and address the cause of the deviations.
Implement autonomous machine maintenance in the section.
Attend to machinery breakdowns where necessary.
Liaise with the laboratory personnel to ensure that product parameters are met to avoid production of off-spec products
Responsible for safety of personnel and equipment in the section by adhering to safe operations and highlighting any safety issues that arise
Support, implement, and adhere to all Food Safety and Quality Management System’s requirements and policies.
Participate in the review of section data sheets and checklists.
Maintain high standards of hygiene & cleanliness at the section and commit to assigned Health and Safety responsibilities.
Be fully conversant with Continuous Improvements/World Class Operation programs and implement all the principles therein.
Minimum Requirements
The ideal candidate must possess the qualifications/competencies outlined below:
• Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Food Science or relevant disciplines
• At least 2 years’ experience in a similar environment.
• Practical experience of tea extract manufacturing process would be an added advantage
• Basic understanding of plant machinery maintenance principles
• Ability to work in shift patterns.
• Knowledge of ERP systems will be an added advantage.
