The Job holder

Reporting to the Assistant Manager of Logistics, the Job holder is expected to ensure containers are delivered to port and loaded to the nominated vessels in time in support of the company’s objectives to meet the client’s expectations in the export operations. This includes ensuring compliance to Customs entries, and other governing regulatory requirements for Exports. Under this position, it may extend to facilitating the processing of VAT Bond Certificates and cancellation for quick purchase and collection of tea intended for blending and shipment.

Minimum Qualification and Experience

  • Must have at least a diploma in shipping / Freight Forwarding or equivalent in a related field with 3 years of working experience.

  • Must have a certificate in ICMS training and an East Africa Freight Forwarding Practicing Certificate (EAFFPC) from KESRA.

  • Must be knowledgeable in ICMS, KENTRADE, KEPHIS IECS, TEA BOARD IMIS SYSTEMS, and logistics FUNCTION- i.e. clearing & forwarding; handling customer’s grievances/complaints.

  • Understand imports, export operations, and Customs Security Bonds management.

  • Ability to communicate at all levels of hierarchy and to work under pressure in situations of complexity to meet deadlines with minimal supervision

  • Proficiency in MS and ERP software, preferably Navision, is an added advantage.

  • Is a team player, proactive, and hands-on person.

HOW TO APPLY

  • Processing and releasing export entries with KEPHIS, Port
    Health, and Tea Board, and allocating and releasing (Final RO) with KRA Customs.
    All entries MUST be released before the container is delivered to the port.

  • Pre-advising export containers on KWATOS, and ensuring
    stuffing messages are done by the Customs officer to enable port delivery.

  • Facilitate gating in port of export containers, scanning,
    releasing by KRA Customs and timely handing over to KPA on nominated vessels.
    Verification of containers if required by customs before release.

  • Processing necessary certificates required for the purchase of
    tea and shipments

  • Maintain the Monthly Management Accounts for all the
    Shipments, both for JFMsa Ltd and JFK Ltd (Tea Extracts and Black Teas)

  • Process TREO Control approvals when due to expire upon cargo
    shipments are complete and forward to KRA for Cancellation before the expiry of the
    stipulated time.

  • Ensure all related parties are regularly advised on the VAT
    Bonds/TREO Control Status.
