Position Overview:

The Regional Coordinator (New Markets) serves as team lead for a four-person validation unit pioneering Jaza's entry into untested African markets. This permanent role evolves across validation, pilot, and scale-up phases, transitioning from testing market viability to owning a 60-site cluster in emerging markets. The role requires exceptional adaptability, leadership, and the ability to build operations from ground zero.


Responsibilities

The Regional Coordinator's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Cluster Expansion: Driving regional growth from pilot stages to full-scale operations using Jaza’s proven replication model.

  • Approval of validated sites as well as finding new organic pipeline.

  • P&L & Strategic Growth: Ownership of the regional Profit and Loss (P&L) statement alongside developing strategic growth plans aligned with overall corporate objectives.

  • Inventory Control: Comprehensive management of regional inventory through strict compliance and operational execution.

  • Performance & Profitability Targets: Meeting key performance metrics, including maintaining 150+ active customers, achieving L7 status, securing hub profitability, and meeting operational excellence benchmarks.

  • Technical & Energy Reliability: Direct coordination with the Regional Service Engineer to guarantee a 99.95% energy uptime across all sites.

  • Ensure lost packs are at 0% at the regional level by implementing 4,5,7 inventory management processes and Pack Memos.

  • Inventory overstock management at the hub level and control missing packs to less than 1% at the regional level for both missing at Hub and with customers.

  • Coordinate field resource allocation across sites , inventory, technical support, staffing and collaborate on operational infrastructure to support successful market launch and scale up

  • Training and coaching Hub Managers.

Qualifications

  • Professional Experience & Industry Background: 5+ years of progressive operational or commercial experience within the FMCG, Energy, Telecoms, or related fast-paced sectors. Proven track record of launching, managing, or scaling distributed operations in emerging African markets is highly desirable.

  • Educational Foundation: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Economics, or a related field; a combination of relevant field-level leadership and specialized training will also be considered.

  • Distributed Team Leadership & Performance Management: Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, and driving the performance of remote or distributed teams. Proven ability to execute talent development models—such as recruiting, training, and certifying regional staff—to build high-performing sales or service units from the ground up.

  • Sales & Customer Experience Execution: Solid experience driving customer growth and service excellence, with a metrics-driven approach to tracking unit economics, building local customer traction (e.g., managing hypercare phases to hit active user targets), and maintaining overall service quality.

  • Field Operations & Adaptive Problem Solving: An entrepreneurial mindset with a comfort for ambiguity and the ability to make data-driven decisions with incomplete information. Must possess strong interpersonal skills across diverse cultures and a willingness to travel extensively for extended periods to run on-the-ground validation and pilot deployments.
