Description

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from a recognized institution.

  • An Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.

  • A current and valid Practicing Certificate.

  • Minimum of four years post-admission experience in a law firm.

  • Strong practical experience in litigation and conveyancing.

  • Excellent drafting, research, advocacy, communication, organizational and client-management skills.

  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and manage multiple matters professionally.

  • Have handled Saccos and other financial institutions matters.


Responsibilities

The Advocate shall be responsible for:

  • Preparing pleadings, applications, affidavits, submissions, agreements, conveyancing documents, legal opinions, and other legal instruments.

  • Representing clients in court, tribunals, registries, negotiations, and other dispute resolution forums.

  • Handling litigation and conveyancing matters from inception to conclusion.

  • Conducting legal research and advising clients on legal issues.

  • Managing client files, diarising court dates, deadlines, and follow-ups.

  • Liaising with clients, courts, registries, government offices, banks and other relevant stakeholders.

  • Ensuring timely, professional, and efficient handling of all assigned matters.

  • Supporting the firm in client management, business development and general legal practice administration

  • Managing loan processing, conveyancing and security perfection transactions for SACCOs, banks and other financial institutions, while ensuring legal and regulatory compliance
