Requirements for Appointment:
- Certificate in Animal Health Production or veterinary Technology from accredited and recognized institution;
- At least Two (2) years’ relevant work experience in a research or teaching laboratory;
- A minimum of KCSE Mean Grade of C-(Minus);
- Must be registered with the Kenya Veterinary Board;
- Must possess animal handling and restraining skills;
- Proficiency in computer applications;
- Knowledge of laws and regulations regarding ethical care and use of animals; and
- Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities
- Animal husbandry: Providing daily care for laboratory animals (mice, rats, rabbits, etc.);
- Health monitoring and bio-containment: observation of animals for signs of illness and maintaining general hygiene in the facility;
- Technical assistance: Assisting learner and researchers with animal restraint, vaccination, dissections, sample collection and administration of treatment; and
- Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
