Chief Accountant- (ACCA)

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Chief Accountant to lead the accounting function for our client. The successful candidate will oversee the entire accounting cycle, ensure full regulatory compliance, and support strategic financial decision-making.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  

• ACCA qualification is highly required.
  

• Minimum of 6–8 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role
  

• Strong understanding of Kenyan tax laws, statutory reporting, and IFRS
  

• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or SAP
  

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  

• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
  

• High level of integrity and professional ethics
  

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations
  

• Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
  

• Ensure compliance with all relevant tax and statutory obligations, including timely filing with KRA and other authorities
  

• Develop and implement internal financial controls and policies to maintain integrity and transparency
  

• Lead and supervise junior accounting staff, including reviewing their work and supporting their development
  

• Monitor and manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting processes
  

• Coordinate external and internal audits and implement recommendations
  

• Analyze financial data and trends to provide strategic recommendations to senior management
  

• Manage fixed assets, depreciation schedules, and inventory reconciliations
  

• Liaise with banks, suppliers, external auditors, and other stakeholders as needed
