Description
We are seeking a cyber security intern that is eager to learn, analytical, and passionate about information security to join our team. This role offers hands-on experience in protecting digital assets, monitoring threats, and supporting cybersecurity initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computing Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in information security, incident response, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with security-related technologies and protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, etc.).
- Knowledge of incident response methodologies and best practices.
- Foundational certification such as Security+ or equivalent is required.
- Assist in monitoring security alerts, logs, and incidents.
- Support vulnerability assessments and penetration testing activities.
- Help identify, investigate, and report potential security risks.
- Assist in configuring and maintaining security tools (e.g., firewalls, SIEM, endpoint protection).
- Escalate incidents to the appropriate team or individual for further action, as necessary.
- Document incidents in accordance with established incident management processes.
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders as required to provide updates on incident status.
- Remain current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security trends.
- Creation of exclusions, queries, and enhancements on behalf of clients to create a better and secure environment.
