Qualifications & Experience
  • a) Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • b) CPA(K), ACCA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
  • c) Membership with ICPAK or another recognized professional accounting body.
  • d) Minimum of 5–7 years' progressive finance and accounting experience, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial role



1. Financial Management, Accounting & Reporting
a) Prepare, review, and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS and company policies.

b) Review general ledger transactions, reconciliations, and financial reports to ensure integrity and accuracy.

c) Provide timely management reports and financial analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making.

2. Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Planning

a) Lead the preparation and consolidation of annual budgets and departmental forecasts.

b) Develop rolling financial forecasts and long-term financial plans aligned with organizational objectives.

c) Monitor budget performance, investigate variances, and recommend corrective actions.

3. Cash Flow, Working Capital & Treasury Management

a) Monitor and manage daily, weekly, and monthly cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity.

b) Prepare cash flow forecasts and treasury reports for management review.

c) Identify and mitigate cash flow and financial risks.

4. Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable & Credit Control

a) Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable operations to ensure timely processing and accuracy.

b) Monitor supplier payments while maintaining optimal cash flow.

c) Review customer accounts, collections, and outstanding balances.

5. Audit, Tax & Regulatory Compliance

a) Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely implementation of audit recommendations.

b) Ensure compliance with all tax laws and statutory requirements including VAT, PAYE, Corporate Tax, NSSF, NHIF, Housing Levy, and other statutory obligations.

c) Oversee payroll financial compliance and reconciliation.

d) Maintain compliance with company financial policies, regulatory standards, and governance requirements.

e) Liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory agencies.

6. ERP Systems, Financial Controls & Process Improvement

a) Oversee the effective utilization of ERP and accounting systems.

b) Improve financial reporting processes through automation and continuous process improvement.

c) Develop and strengthen internal controls across finance operations.

7. Leadership & Team Management

a) Lead, mentor, supervise, and develop finance and accounting staff.

b) Set departmental objectives, monitor performance, and conduct performance appraisals.

8. Business Partnership & Decision Support

a) Provide financial analysis and strategic recommendations to senior management.

b) Support investment decisions, capital expenditure evaluations, and business expansion initiatives.

9. Risk Management & Internal Controls

a) Identify financial risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.

b) Develop and maintain effective internal control systems.

c) Monitor compliance with financial policies and procedures.

10. Performance Measurement & Financial Analysis

a) Develop and monitor key financial and operational performance indicators.

b) Analyze profitability, costs, margins, liquidity, and operational performance.

c) Investigate budget variances and recommend corrective actions.

d) Prepare management dashboards and financial performance reports.
