Finance Officer

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Finance or Accounting option) or Business Administration (Accounting option) from a recognized institution.
  
• CPA Part III or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
  
• At least three (3) years of relevant working experience.
  
• Experience in using financial software and advanced MS Excel skills.
  
• Knowledge of public sector financial reporting guidelines.
  
• Proficiency in computer packages and relevant accounting packages.
  
• Valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
  
• Must meet the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
  

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare the Annual Financial Budget in consultation with departments.
  
• Ensure proper maintenance of records and books of accounts relating to all revenue and expenditures.
  
• Reconcile daily, monthly and annual financial transactions.
  
• Prepare bank reconciliations and trial balances.
  
• Certify all expenditures in accordance with approved vote heads and budgetary allocations.
  
• Formulate the entity budget and ensure execution in line with the Public Finance Management Act, 2012.
  
• Prepare quarterly and annual reports and financial statements in accordance with IPSAS (Accrual Basis) and the Public Finance Management Act, 2012.
  
• Ensure compliance with Government Financial Regulations.
  
• Prepare and manage BOG staff payroll.
  
• Prepare and ensure timely submission of statutory deductions including PAYE, NSSF, SHA and HELB.
  
• Undertake any other duties as assigned.
