Graduate Trainee: Software Engineering - Kenya

Role Overview:

We are seeking innovative, self-driven software engineers who are constantly learning, embracing new technologies, and possess a natural curiosity for the world of opportunities available to them. As a trainee, you will work closely with experienced engineers to develop, test, and maintain software applications that support our business operations. You will also receive on-the-job training and mentoring to help you build your skills and experience in software engineering.

What You'll do:

• Document, design, develop and THOROUGHLY test your code. We have very high expectations of you in this.
• Working in an agile environment to gain valuable experience in agile methodologies. Actively participate in agile ceremonies: scrum, sprint retros, sprint reviews e.t.c
• Adopting new engineering methods and integrating them into your work processes.
• Gain technical depth in knowledge of products in your team’s domain.
• Developing expertise in your chosen field, whether it be Frontend OR Backend.

What we are looking for:

• Candidates have experience in developing and/or consuming web services (REST ).
• Demonstrable knowledge of Backend Software Development in Java.
• You should demonstrate creativity, adaptability, and learning enthusiasm.
• A credible git portfolio either on GitHub, Bitbucket or any other public repository.
• Minimum of a Diploma majoring in Computer Science,IT, Software engineering or related fields.
• Candidates who have completed their tertiary education and are awaiting graduation are invited to apply as well.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Discretion. You can maintain confidentiality to company data and intellectual property.
• Self-motivation to grow as a software engineer.
