Educational Background & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics and/or Supply Chain Management
- Master’s degree will be an added advantage
- Minimum of 10 years working experience in the field of Logistics.
- Knowledge and experience of modern supply chain concepts, techniques, practices and IT systems.
- Computer skills, Access, Excel, MS Word, MS office.
- Experience of ERP systems and eProcurement.
- Experience in developing supplier partnerships in a complex environment.

Responsibilities
Distribution operations
- Coordinate deliveries for exports and local markets, ensure on-time and in-full delivery, and maintain strong internal and external partnerships
- Supervise daily distribution operations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain documentation for all policies, processes, and procedures in logistics and distribution management to ensure consistent practices and maintain efficiencies of scale; ensure documentation is up-to-date and easy to access.
- Build and track cost and productivity metrics and KPIs to drive cost savings, service improvements, and progress toward operational targets.
- Develop and oversee processes for management of transportation initiatives, including liaising between transport companies, coordinating deliveries, and enforcing deadlines, implementing onboarding programs, sourcing new carriers, and ensuring compliance.
- Manage the company fleet of trucks, both owned and outsourced and work with the Procurement Manager on a quarterly review of transporters/suppliers.
Distribution planning, implementation and cost management
- Manage efficient flow of outgoing products to ensure customers receive products on time and at a good cost.
- Ensure safe and efficient distribution of goods, and ensure that orders are fulfilled correctly.
- Plan and manage logistics and transportation of finished goods for various company locations and customer deliveries.
- Keep track of quality of goods, delivery timelines, transport costs and efficiency of distribution function.
- Assess and advice on the logistics needs for various locations. Plan routes and process shipment of products to and from various locations.
- Working closely with functions to ensure proper budgeting for contracted services.
Inbound Logistics Management
- Assess and provide logistics needs for various locations, including interplant transfers.
- Plan routes and process shipment of products to and from various locations.
- Follow up with suppliers to ensure orders are ready and shipped within the agreed lead times, offering market intelligence regarding shipping lines and routes for efficiency.
- Ensuring timely processing of import permits for all imported goods through respective government departments.
- Managing clearing agents and inbound transporters to ensure performance as per SLAs.
- Ensure customs documentation/clearing process is done on time to avoid storage/demurrage.
Budgeting & Financial Control
- Manage and control Sales & General Expenses Administration (SGA) within approved budget
- Budget control and performance reporting—budget vs. actual, key performance indicators, and service level agreement attainment and management.
