Person Specification
- Degree in Health Records and Information Technology.
- Valid licence from the Health Records and Information Managers Board.
- At least 3 years work experience in a hospital setting.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining Patient Records
- Cataloguing and maintaining proper patient records OP/ IP.
- Ensuring systematic filing of all patient records to allow for easy retrieval
- Ensuring the security of medical records to ensure that confidentiality is maintained.
- Maintaining a log of all files that are requested noting which department / Manager they have been dispatched to, the date and ensures / follows up for their return.
- Retrieving and dispatching patient cards / files as and when required.
- Ensuring that archiving of old files is done.
- Ensure proper disposal of medical records per the organization’s policies.
- Prepare and maintain periodic Ministry of Health reports
- Keep statistics of cost of treatment, top disease patterns.
- Maintaining, recording, analyzing, interpreting and disseminating data on specific cases which will be used prepare statistical reports (monthly, quarterly and annual) on patient statistics per location, disease trends, mortality, bed occupancy)
- Compiling the Annual Health Statistical Report.
- Any other duty as assigned by your supervisor in line with the job description.
