Description
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional pharmaceutical services, including prescription review, dispensing, patient counselling, and medication therapy management.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the pharmacy to ensure efficient, safe, and uninterrupted service delivery.
  • Plan, procure, receive, store, and manage pharmaceutical products and medical consumables to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize expiries and stock-outs.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable pharmacy laws, professional standards, licensing requirements, and hospital policies.
  • Manage controlled medicines and ensure proper documentation, storage, accountability, and reporting.
  • Supervise, mentor, and coordinate the performance of pharmacy personnel to promote high standards of service delivery.
  • Collaborate with clinicians to promote rational prescribing, medication safety, antimicrobial stewardship, and optimal patient care.
  • Monitor, investigate, and report medication errors, adverse drug reactions, and other medication-related incidents while implementing corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement pharmacy quality improvement initiatives, standard operating procedures, and risk management measures.
  • Prepare pharmacy reports, monitor key performance indicators, and provide regular updates on pharmacy operations, stock status, and regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning for pharmaceutical products and services.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and utilization of pharmacy equipment and information systems.
  • Participate in clinical audits, Continuous Medical Education, Continuous Professional Development, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Promote excellent customer service and uphold the organization’s values, ethical standards, and patient-centred care principles.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by management.
Skill & Experience
  • Bachelor of Pharmacy from a recognized institution.
  • Registered with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board with a valid Practicing License.
  • Minimum of two years’ post-registration experience in a hospital pharmacy, with demonstrated experience managing pharmacy operations.
  • Experience in a leadership or supervisory role will be an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacotherapy, pharmaceutical care, and medication safety.
  • Sound understanding of pharmacy operations, inventory management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Leadership, team supervision, and people management skills.
  • Financial and inventory management skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, accountability, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in hospital information systems and computerized pharmacy management systems.
