Description
On behalf of our client, a leading Manufacturer of Wood Products, we are seeking a results-driven Production & Maintenance Manager who will oversee all aspects of production operations from start to end. This role ensures smooth and efficient production processes to meet exceptional quality standards and client expectations while optimizing productivity and reducing labor costs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications are an advantage.

  • Proven experience as a Production Manager or in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.

  • Strong knowledge of wood product manufacturing (assembly, finishing, packaging) and quality control standards.

  • Proficient in production management software and tools.

  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.


Responsibilities

1. Production & Operations Management

  • Develop and implement production plans and schedules to meet delivery deadlines.

  • Ensure efficient utilization of raw materials, equipment, and labor.

  • Monitor and adjust plans to optimize productivity and minimize waste.

  • Coordinate with procurement to ensure a timely supply of raw materials and maintain inventory accuracy.

2. Team Leadership & Performance

  • Lead workshop staff with equity and fairness, providing clear direction and support.

  • Foster a positive environment promoting teamwork and continuous improvement.

  • In liaison with HR, conduct performance evaluations and identify opportunities for skill development.

3. Quality Control

  • Institute and lead the quality control and assurance committee.

  • Enforce strict quality measures throughout the production process to ensure compliance with specifications and industry standards.

  • Investigate and resolve production issues or quality concerns promptly.

4. Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including the use of PPE.

  • Conduct regular safety audits, identify hazards, and implement corrective actions through root cause analysis.

  • Provide training to promote safety awareness and best practices.

5. Process Improvement

  • Identify and recommend opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

  • Drive Lean manufacturing principles such as 5S, Six Sigma, and Kaizen.
